...the teaching practice of Lucy Lomax, in Annapolis, MD. Lucy is a a Certified Anusara Yoga® Teacher and a Registered Yoga Teacher, E-RYT 500. Having practiced yoga in the 70's and 80’s, Lucy began seriously practicing and studying yoga in 1998 and teaching yoga in 1999.
As Lucy continued to devote more of her life to yoga study and teaching, she found herself naturally moving further from her connection to the business world. In March 2003, Lucy took early retirement from a 32-year career as a public financial policy analyst (she has a BS in Organizational Development and a Masters in Public Financial Management) and moved wholeheartedly into her career as a yoga teacher. Having studied extensively with her primary teacher, John Friend, Lucy teaches classes, workshops, retreats, teacher trainings, and Anusara® Immersions in the DC-Maryland Metropolitan area.
Believing that yoga is a gift that can help everyone be centered and grounded in
today's scattered world, Lucy teaches with enthusiasm and a sense of
lightheartedness, encouraging her students to explore and grow.
Focusing on the inherently therapeutic application of Anusara Yoga® to heal
the stresses of today’s sedentary lifestyles, Lucy teaches
yoga classes for all levels of students, from beginner to advanced.
Helping students understand and apply the principles of
Anusara Yoga to create strength and openness
in their bodies, minds, and hearts
is her greatest joy.
These days, Lucy’s mantras are twofold --
If it isn’t fun why do it?, and
To live fully, let go of anything that doesn’t serve the heart.
When not doing or teaching yoga, Lucy can be found sitting
on her deck watching the tide ebb and flow, or in front of her fireplace knitting.
Oh, and add to that tranquility a fragrant cup of Darjeeling and a square or two of
dark chocolate and the whole world is truly lighter!
